RUBEN M. SCOLAVINO, ESQ.

 

After graduation from Law School, Mr. Scolavino was appointed as an Assistant District Attorney in Bronx County. While in that post he handled hundreds of DWI cases from beginnig to trial. After he left that position he brought his skills to New Jersey and has handled DWI defense in every county in the state. He is a tireless advocate for his clients and will not stop until he reaches a favorable outcome.

Today Ruben uses his knowledge and vast experience to represent individuals charged with criminal offenses in both the State and Federal courts of New Jersey and New York. Ruben has handled high profile cases involving Homicides, Sexual Assaults, Drug Trafficking and White Collar Crimes.

Ruben has decided to further the scope of his practice by defending the rights of immigrants, assisting them in all facets of Immigration law. As a native Spanish speaker and immigrant himself, Ruben brings unique insight into the plight of immigrants coming to this country seeking opportunity.

 

A 1999 graduate of William Paterson University, Ruben has returned to the university as a featured speaker and adjunct professor. He currently teaches courses in Constitutional Law, Criminology, Social Deviance and Civil Rights at the university. Ruben has also taught classes and been a guest speaker at Rutgers University and Kean University.

 

As a 2002 graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law, Ruben clerked at the U.S. Attorney’s office as well as interning for a Federal District Judge. Ruben spent his final year at the law school working at the university’s Center for Social Justice, in the Immigration and Human Rights Clinic.
